Near the end of March, I had the opportunity to take my dad to Lorien's culinary school restaurant:
Restaurant Forte.
It's the restaurant the culinary students run during their last semester before their internships. You pay $25 to have a fancy 5-6 course meal & it's AMAZING.
The bread course had all sorts of different breads. I loved the biscuits. They were so buttery & wonderful.
Isn't my dad a cutie patootie?
We had a little starter as well. It was a delicious pork & shrimp eggroll in sweet chili sauce. It was INCREDIBLE.
For my appetizer I got the meatballs which were delicious. . .
and my dad got the burnt ends with root beer bbq sauce. His was spectacular. He definitely picked the best appetizer.
For my salad I got the caprese salad which was amazing.
and my dad enjoyed the Lobster Bisque soup.
My dad's main dish was the roasted chicken. It was beautiful & SO tender.
I got the salmon & let me tell you, the celery root mash was my favorite part of the entire meal. Who know celery mash could be so good & flavorful? The sauces were amazing on the salmon & mash as well.
I got the cazookie for dessert. It was a giant cookie with homemade ice cream & a large toffee chip on top with a side of hot melted chocolate & fresh fruit.
My dad got a wonderful pineapple upside down cake with some sort of sweet coconut sauce to pour on top.
The entire meal was spectacular. $25!!! It was the best date ever.
