"Mummy" Made It!
So for all of October, I try to make fun Halloween themed food for dinner. I'm trying to take pictures of it so I can post it on here, but I keep forgetting. But here is my "MUMMY" dinner.
All you do it take a pork loin (the long kind) & a ton of croissant dough. Season the pork loin to your liking & then wrap it in strips of the croissant dough until it looks like a mummy's body. Then I cut an apple into a head shape & wrapped it with the dough as well & placed it at the top for a head. Then you bake it for about 45 minutes & voila! You have a mummy for dinner!
Fruit Loop Tree
I've started taking Taya to a group on base called Creative Critters. It's for the little kids who don't go to school & it is a blast. Each time you make a craft, eat a snack, have some kind of a activity (song time, story time, etc.), & then play in the gym until it's time to go. Taya loves it.
For the craft this week we did leaf rubbing with crayons. . .Taya just colored on paper. She didn't have the patience for the rubbing. And then we made fruit loop sand trees. She LOVED this. Mommy drew a tree on a paper & then outlined it in glue. Taya crushed up fruit loops into sand & sprinkled it all over the glue. When it dried, it was in the tree shape. She thought that was SO COOL! She was very proud of her creation.

Then we ate fruit loops, sang songs, & played with balls in the gym. It was a ton of fun. We'll definitely be going back for the next one.

Battle Wounds
Well, it's finally happened. They lasted a lot longer than I expected, but I still hate to see it happen.
Cadence & Lorien have discovered that they can hurt each other with more than just words. I was getting used to breaking up the word battles, but the physical ones are a little more difficult for me simply because I'm not used to them. (Everyone tells me the physical ones are 10 times easier than the dramatic ones, but I don't know.)
Lorien did something to make Cadence mad & Lorien somehow wound up with a bloody nose & lip (you can see the swelling under her nose in the picture) & a gash across her back. I'm still uncertain how the nose issue happened, but the gash was done by Cadence hitting Lorien in the back with a pole from their princess tent. Once Cadence saw the blood, she felt terrible. She couldn't stop trying to console her sister (I don't know if from fear of punishment or if it was completely sincere love. . . .I'm saying sincere love because I have faith in my kids that they know when they've done something wrong & feel the need to fix it.) Cadence even cried. They were hugging for the rest of the night. So that made me happy. I hope this doesn't happen again. I don't like it one bit!

Mommy's Halloween Wig
Well, it's October so you know what that means: HALLOWEEN COSTUMES!! My wig that I ordered for my Sleeping Beauty costume arrived in the mail yesterday. Of course everyone in the family had to try it on. Luckily Bladen had already gone to bed.
Taya thought she was ALL THAT with it on:

Cadence looked a little too good in it. That scared me:

Lorien wasn't into it as much as the other two were:

And even Daddy got to be a little silly.

What do you want for breakfast?
Every morning we ask Taya, "What do you want for breakfast?" to which she replies, "Cereal, pop- tart, or oatmeal." Well, this week she's been saying "Waffle!" But when I made her a waffle she threw a fit. I had no idea what I was doing wrong. She kept saying "shokid" but I couldn't figure out what that was. Then Sunday morning, DADDY made her a waffle & I see why mine wasn't good enough. Leave it to daddy to feed our kids waffles covered in chocolate sauce! She was telling me CHOCOLATE!! Now that's all she wants! Look at this face!! I don't want to clean up THAT mess every day! Sorry darlin'! You're stuck with cereal or oatmeal when momma's in town!

Lego Maniac
Cadence is my Lego Maniac. We bought her these "big" legos (I think they're called duplo) back when she turned 2, & she still plays with them constantly. She's asking for the normal sized legos for Christmas this year (which mommy & daddy bought already & is hidden in the closet). She can build just about anything with legos, & she spends hours doing it. She'll follow me around the house & say, "What do you want me to build you?" I just spout off random things: a flower, a train (pictured here), a car, a tree, a lion, etc. She finds a way to build it. She is so talented. (& super cute too)

Bladen is A-O-K!!!!!!!
Just as an update for our little man. . . we took him to his preliminary appointment in Trier today & the doctor did several "responsive tests" with him to check his disposition. The doctor said he was a happy & responsive baby. He did an ultrasound on his head & we got wonderful results. He said that there is nothing in his head, skull, or brain that we should be worried about. No tumors, no Hydrocephalus, nothing. He did say there was some water between his skull & his skin, but none near his brain which is what they look out for. He said that the little water he does have on top of his skull is normal & is nothing to be concerned with. He said that the extra fluid is what is making his head a little bigger than normal. But after looking at all the results of the testing, the doctor said we have nothing to worry about. They cancelled the MRI completely & said it was not necessary. Hooray!! My little man is going to grow healthy & strong & normal. Thank you for all your thoughts & prayers in our behalf.
