Beach Fun

It's always fun when Auntie Tylee comes to town.  Tylee & Pete came down this weekend to spend some time with the kiddos.

Since Bladen's birthday is this week, she brought him his present early:
a Magna-Doodle
He was thrilled.

It was such a GORGEOUS day that we decided to spend the morning at the beach.  The water was cold (Monterey water is ALWAYS cold), but the sun was shining.  The waves were HUGE & were breaking right on the beach line.  The kids had fun running from the waves with the grown ups.

Lorien always wants Trek & I to bury her in the sand.  She's funny like that.

This was Craiger's first experience with sand.  He LOVED it.  He loved touching it, crawling through it, rolling in it, & eating it.  GROSS.

Bladen is like his mommy.  He hates sand, he hates the freezing water, & he prefers to get a little sunshine on the comfort of a beach towel.  So funny.

Taya normally hates sand as well, but after watching us bury Lorien in the sand, she wanted a turn too.

Tylee, Pete, & Trek had a nice game of frisbee on the beach.

Trek built a nice sand castle with Cadence & Lorien.  They were SO PROUD of their castle.

After spending the morning at the beach, we came home & showered, then hung out for the afternoon.  Auntie Marc joined us from Santa Cruz as well.  The day was filled with chicken fights,

& lots of PARK FUN.

Auntie Marc brought HUGE suckers for all the kids.  How do you know you've completely worn your kids out?  You'll find them fast asleep on the couch clutching their lollipops as they drift away into dreamland.  What a cutie pie.

It was a FUN FUN FUN weekend.

Daddy Daughter Princess Dance

Cadence & Lorien's Elementary School here in Seaside put on an adorable
Daddy Daughter Princess Dance
for all girls & their dads.  I thought it was the most adorable idea EVER.

The day before the dance, I had Trek stop by a local flower shop to pick out corsages for the girls.  They were SO SURPRISED & EXCITED.

He got Cadence a beautiful pink carnation corsage.

And he picked out a fun yellow carnation corsage for Lorien since yellow is her favorite color.

Both girls dressed up in their pretty dresses & got ready for a date night with daddy.

Trek took them to their favorite restaurant: Black Bear Diner.  What is it with kids & breakfast for dinner?  It cracks me up.  They both got their favorite breakfasts for their special dinner date.

They had a blast at the dance.  Daddy danced with each of them several times & they danced together & had SO MUCH FUN.

I'm so grateful I have such beautiful princesses as daughters & such a wonderful loving husband as the father of my children.  I feel very blessed to have such wonderful people in my life.  I love my family more than anything.

Craiger's 1st Haircut

Craiger is getting SO BIG.  Along with getting bigger, his hair keeps getting longer & longer & longer.  It's darling, BUT people keep calling him a girl with his long blond curls.  So. . . it was time to give him a proper BOYS haircut.

He was completely happy to begin with.  He even got a chocolate cupcake at first to make him happy.

But then Dad started cutting with scissors. . . not so happy anymore.

And don't even get me started on the clippers.  Poor kid.

But when all was said & done, his hair was cut & he was a total CUTIE PIE!!

What a stud!

Let's Go Fly A Kite . . . or 4

The kids all got FABULOUS kites from the Easter Bunny this year so we couldn't wait for a windy day to go try them out.  They did an AWESOME job.  Bladen was a real natural at it.  In fact, he kept getting bored & would let go of his string & walk over to the playground.  Poor Trek had to chase down his kite 3 times in 1 hour.
ha ha ha.

Bladen had a Spiderman kite, Taya had a Princess kite, Cadence had a Barbie kite, & Lorien had a Spongebob kite.  We had several people come & sit on the grass to watch us fly the kites.  I forgot how relaxing & care-free it is to fly kites.

After flying kites, we let the kids play/swing at the park until they were completely worn out.  It was a GREAT afternoon.
