Lorien's "Homeschooled" Play

Play #2 was Lorien's play entitled
"Homeschooled"
It was hilarious.  It was about a town that decides to spend all their money on a giant cheese festival, including all the money used for education.  School gets cancelled & all the kids in the town have to be homeschooled.  The parents decide to each pick a subject to teach & they start a homeschooled school.  The rocket scientist teaches kindergarten, the drill seargant teaches home economics, the jazzercise teacher teaches philosophy, etc.  It's pretty cute.

It started 20 minutes after Taya's Gold Rush play ended.  We were running from one school to the next as fast as we could so we didn't miss anything.

Lorien is kind of a play "pro" at this point.  She's been in SO many plays that it's just 2nd nature for her now which is a ton of fun.  For this play she played a jock . . . a mouthy jock.  It was SO out of character for her, but she did a great job.  She also had a solo at the very beginning of the show.

We were SO proud of her.

We are really truly going to miss the musical theater class at this school.  The drama department her at Crittenden is amazing & we feel SO blessed that Lorien got to be a part of it for 2 years.  She learned SO much & loved it here.

Great job Lo!

Taya's Gold Rush Play

Everybody said things would get busy as the kids got older, & boy were they right.  Between all the concerts & plays this month, our lives have been insanely crazy.  In fact, we had 3 plays in 24 hours.  Yes, you read that right, THREE PLAYS.  (Taya was in 2 of them).

First we had Taya's 4th grade Gold Rush play.  This play is put on by all the 4th graders at the school & it covers all the topics they learned about the CA Gold Rush in their history class during the year.  It was an adorable play with about 10 songs & some fun speaking characters.  Taya was the most adorable little pan miner you've ever seen.  She did really well on stage.  I was SO proud of her.

Craiger's Day With Aunties

It's been SO wonderful living SO close to Trek's Auntie Marc, & his two sisters, Tylee & Triskin.  They are SO wonderful to our kids & are just SO fun to be around.

Auntie Marc has taken one weekend each month to kidnap one of my kids overnight.  She comes on a Friday & picks them up & they sleep over at her house, eat fancy dinners out, go to the movies, & do all sorts of fun things with them.  She then brings them back late the next day.

It was finally Craiger's turn to be with Auntie.  She picked him up & took him home to Santa Cruz.  Of course all he wanted for dinner was mac'n'cheese so they went to the store & she bought him a box as well as a gallon container of cheese puffs.  He was in HEAVEN.

They stayed up REALLY late watching his favorite cartoons & movies.

Saturday morning, Auntie Tylee (with her stepson Drew & his friend) & Auntie Triskin came down & met Craiger & Auntie Marc at the Santa Cruz Boardwalk.  These kids were in HEAVEN.  They got wristbands allowing them to ride anything & everything they wanted to.  They ate fair food, rode rides, played games, & had a blast.

I was really proud of Craiger.  He was the youngest one there, but rode every ride the big kids did.  He wanted to be tough like them & he did great.

He had a blast!!!  We're going to miss our Auntie's when we move.

Cadence's Symphonic Band Concert

Cadence performed in her last Symphonic Band concert of the year in May as well.  It was fun for Cadence to be in both the Symphonic Band & the Symphonic Orchestra this year.  She learned SO much & just loved playing her oboe.

Here's some links to the songs she performed:

She did an amazing job.

Canyon's 5th Birthday

Canyon's actual birthday fell on Mother's Day this year which was fun.  I loved sharing special days with my little guy.

Canyon was SO excited to turn 5.  He knows he gets to go to school when he turns 5 so he's been waiting for it.

For his birthday breakfast he wanted Lucky Charms, applesauce, bacon, & a birthday breakfast ding dong.

I can't believe my baby is 5 years old.

Canyon got all sorts of fun things for his birthday.  And for some weird reason I took NO pictures.  I think he was so excited about it all that we forgot to pull out the camera for it.  He got a lot of clothes from my friend Nancy, a hydroflask water bottle from mom & dad, TONS of Funko pop characters & action figures from Mimi, Baba, Opa, & Oma, some money from Grandma K, & a new Mario backpack from Auntie Cari & Uncle Justin.

For his birthday dinner, Canyon wanted his 3 favorite things:
homemade mac n cheese,
carrots,
& spiraled apples.

He was SO happy.  Happy birthday Canyon!!!  We love you.
