We Have Another Driver In The House

And just like that we have another driver in the house!

In the state of UT you can get your driver's permit when you turn 15 & pass the permit test.  Taya who is actually almost 16 studied all summer so she could take the test as soon as we got back to the states.  She passed & now she has a UT driver's permit.

She has to have the permit for 6 months (even though she turns 16 in September) & pass driver's ed (which she is taking at school this year) & a driver's test, but in January she should be good to go.  Hooray.

Cousin Sleepover Time

We absolutely LOVE being near family now.  I love that we can call up Talon & Carolyn whenever we feel like it & get the kids together for some fun.

In July we had a fun little pool day with them as well as a sleepover at their house so the kids could spend more time together.  It was great.

They even got to talk to Cadence on her PDay which was awesome.

Potter Family Reunion 2023 - Park City - Dinner & A Rodeo

After having fun at Jordanelle, we headed to Orem for a fun Tepanyaki Lunch.  Tarrish & John treated us all to this fabulous treat.

Our server had just broken his arm & had us all sign his cast as we were getting seated.  The kids got a kick out of it because it was like he was asking for their autographs.  They were adorable.

We've never had Tepanyaki before & my kids had so much fun with the entire meal.  They loved the appetizers!  They loved the fire on the grill & the throwing of the shrimp into our mouths (every one of my kiddos, Trek, & I were champs at catching shrimp in our mouths.  We were very proud.).

The food was fantastic.  We loved the rice.  We loved the noodles.  We loved the teriyaki chicken.  We loved everything they gave us.

After lunch we walked around the mall a little bit & ran into the actor that plays Andrew In the TV series, The Chosen.  My kids were pretty excited about that. . . & a little starstruck.  It was cute.

Then we went to the Spanish Fork Rodeo for Fiesta Days.  I haven't been to the Fiesta Days rodeo in YEARS so this was extra fun for us.

My cousin's son won the mutten bustin competition so we were super proud of them.

Which made me realize my whole family was there (my dad's side of the family that I haven't seen in FOREVER!).  So I focused on trying to find them in the stadium & I DID.  I FOUND THEM ALL.

The kids enjoyed the rodeo, especially the stunt bikes.  They got a kick out of that.

After the rodeo (at 10pm), we headed back to Park City for one more night in our nice house together.  We got up early Sunday morning & said our goodbyes before heading home.

Family is such a wonderful thing.  I'm so grateful for my family.

Potter Family Reunion 2023 - Park City - Jordanelle Fun

We woke up on Saturday & enjoyed homemade crepes made by Oma.  I love her so much.  She is such an amazing woman.

Then we all hopped into cars & drove down to Jordanelle Reservoir for some water fun.

My kids have never done paddleboards before & let me tell you, they have a new favorite thing now.  They LOVED them.  They loved just paddling around, but they also loved trying to knock each other off their paddleboards.  They had a blast.

We spent about 4 hours there enjoying time together.  It was perfect.  Then we drove back to our rental in Park City to get ready for dinner & the rodeo.

2023 Potter Family Reunion - Park City, UT - Cheesesteaks, Grad Party, & Blockbuster

After the hike we ran back to the house to meet Tarrish & John.  I probably haven't seen Tarrish in 5 years so this was SO nice to be with them.  John is hilarious.  He shipped a huge grill to the house we were staying in, then packaged up about $400 worth of top of the line sliced beef & cheese into a cooler that he took directly onto the plan from the east coast to UT.  He wanted to make sure it was the best of the best for us.  Tarrish & John made us the most incredible Philly Cheesesteaks for lunch & we had a blast enjoying our time together.

Soon after Tarrish & John, Triskin & Craig came with a huge box of Crumbl Cookies in hand.  We were going to eat ourselves sick this weekend, but boy was it fun.  John made them some cheesesteaks & then we spent the rest of the afternoon just chatting together & catching up.

At 4, we planned a fun "graduation celebration" for Lorien since she just graduated high school & is college bound this fall.  Tylee ordered her a beautiful sprinkle cake & everyone brought gifts, cards, & money for her.  She was SO surprised.

After the party, Tylee had our dinner catered for us.  It was an incredible Italian dinner with several salads, pastas, & breads to choose from.

Then we spent the rest of the night playing games as a family.  Blockbuster was hilarious.  We especially loved watching Opa & Oma do charades.  They are the cutest & we love them so much.

Family Time is the best!
