Halloween Military Dining Out

This year, for Halloween, Trek's cadets decided to do a dining out which was SUPER FUN.

Costumes were absolutely required & we went all out as Weird Barbie & Ken.

It was a fun night.  The food was great (potluck style), the program was very well done, & the grog was disgusting as always.  I'm so glad they invited spouses to join this time.

Pumpkin Patch Fun

October truly is the best month of the year.  The kids wanted to pick out their own pumpkins at a pumpkin patch so we found one nearby & let them have some fun.

Then we took them home & carved them. . .

We are officially ready for Halloween!

Aliens On The Run - Half Marathon

Trek is always looking for fun activities that involve running or riding his bike.  He found an "Aliens on the Run" half marathon over at Dugway (the middle of NOWHERE) & invited his cadets to join him.

Only one cadet came, but that cadet took first place & Trek took 2nd!  It was a fun day for them both.

Craiger's First Glider Flight

Craiger is absolutely LOVING Civil Air Patrol.  He is learning so many things about leadership, emergency services, drones, aerospace.  It's such a great program for teens.

In October, he was offered his first glider flight through CAP.  He woke up early early in the morning & drove down to Payson Airport about an hour south of us.  The whole experience was like a dream for him.

He got to be in the glider with an experienced glider instructor/pilot & he talked Craiger through everything.  Craiger got to pull the lever to disconnect from the tow plane, he got to steer his whole way down, & he got to assist with the landing.  It was incredible.

And while all this was happening, a full solar eclipse took place.  Craiger was able to get a fantastic view of that from the sky as well.

Craiger also learned some of the ins & outs of gliders.  He got to assist holding/pushing the wings for another fellow CAP member as they took off as well as assisted in setting up & taking down the glider.

The entire day was like a dream come true for him.  Thank you Civil Air Patrol Blackhawk Squadron for being SO AMAZING for these youth.

Cornbelly's

Opa & Oma were in town with Talon & Carolyn's kids so we all met up on Friday night to go to Cornbellys' in American Fork for some corn maze fun.

I grew up around corn mazes & I love them.  I love getting lost & trying to find my way back.  This was the first time any of my kids have ever done a corn maze.  They LOVED it.  Of course, they wanted it to be haunted so they could be chased (weirdo kids), but I enjoyed the peace & quite of a "normal" corn maze.

I didn't realize that Cornbelly's is more than just corn mazes these days.  They have all sorts of fun games, food, activities, shows, & more going on.  The kids were loving every minute of it.

Oh my goodness, the Rat Maze!  Have you ever seen this?  I thought for sure my teenagers were going to get stuck in here, but they all made it through (miraculously)!

They also had a "silly house" that defied gravity.  The kids got a kick out of this until they actually left the house.  Then they all felt like they were going to throw up.

We went through some of the haunted houses while we were there too (because my kids LOVE being scared!).  The younger kids didn't like it at all, but my kids loved it.

We ended our time there on the bounce house & the slides.  Everybody enjoyed those.

Then we drove up to Chick Fil A (because Taya was working) to visit her.  I think she might have been mortified that we all "happened" to visit Chick Fil A while she was working.

It was a SUPER FUN night with family.  It's so good to be home.
