For Canyon's birthday we decided to make it a family Mario Kart day. I made 2 cakes for him. Canyon helped me make King Boo's cake. He learned how to pipe the frosting for King Boo's arms, teeth, & tongue. He was very proud of himself.
I wanted to make an actual Mario cake too, so I put together a pixel Mario using M&M's. It turned out super cute. . . & delcious.
We spent the majority of the Saturday painting our own Mario Kart vehicles using moving boxes. I bet we were painting for a good 4 hours or more. Why is painting & creating SO FUN?
We were covered in paint by the end!
Once we had all our boxes painted like Mario Kart cars, we dug into the Halloween costume bins & found our old Mario Brothers costumes & put them on. Once in costume, we grabbed our cars & HIT THE ROAD.

Trek as Luigi |
We then spent a couple of hours racing around our neighborhood & around the fields behind our house. We were having SO MUCH FUN. We also got a lot of funny looks from neighbors & bikers.
We ended up making a funny Mario Kart video out of all the racing & playing we did. The kids kept coming up with cute scenarios that happen in the video game, & then we'd act it out & film it. They were having SO MUCH FUN being silly.
After our Mario Kart race, we went back home for some cake & ice cream.
Look at this adorable birthday boy. He was in heaven all day long.
Happy Birthday Canyon. I hope all your dreams come true!
