Christmas 2023

Christmas morning was great.  We slept over at Mimi & Baba's house so all the kids could be with their cousins on Christmas morning.  The adults slept on air mattresses in the travel room while we divided the kids up into the 2 bedrooms (one girl room & one boy room).

Santa brought the kiddos some fun things this year. . .

Canyon got the Donkey Kong Lego set he's been wanting for almost a year now.

Craiger got some model rockets to build & set off.

Taya got a beautiful picture of the Eiffel Tower for her bedroom.

And Bladen got a light up gaming keyboard.  (He doesn't have a gaming computer yet, but this will be the start of one that he will piece together one piece at a time.  He's hoping to get a job when he turns 15 or 16 so he can start saving up for computer components.)

After everyone got to play around with their Santa gifts for a bit, we all got comfortable in the living room & opened presents.  It was CRAZY, but we had a blast.

After opening presents, Trek made omelets for the family, then we opened up our stockings which is always the favorite part of Christmas morning for our family because we all fill each other's stockings.  The kids save up money & buy one thing for each family member's stocking.  It's always so much fun seeing what people pick out for each other.

Yes, Trek bought me a 4 slice toaster & called it "a stocking present."  What a dork.  I love him.

Lorien had to work on Christmas Day, so she got ready & went to work while we stayed at Mimi's house & watched Christmas Vacation, played with our new gifts, & got some things cleaned up.

When she got off work, we packed up our van & headed home.  When we arrived at our house, our front doorstep was filled with treats & goodies from members of our ward & our neighborhood.  We really did move to the best neighborhood ever.

As we unpacked the van, I had each of the kids set up their gifts so I could take a picture so we would always remember what they got that year.

I got 4 board games this year (which is always my favorite thing to get)!

After we put away our new gifts & cleaned up the house a bit, we went up to my room & opened up our Nancy presents.  Nancy is my friend that lives in CA.  We met when I was 17 & working for Disney for a summer internship.  She has never been married, has never had kids, & has no family around so she kind of adopted me way back then & has continued to love & adopt my family throughout the years.  She LOVES sending fun things for Christmas & birthdays.

We had a blast opening our "Nancy Gifts."

It was a wonderful Christmas at the Potter house.

Merry Christmas from our house to yours!  We love you all!
