One super fun part about being a mom to teenagers is dances!!! Homecoming was in October & both Cadence & Lorien went to the dance. Lorien went with a group of friends & Cadence got asked out by a boy in our church group.
My favorite part is always getting them ready. We went to the girls' friends' house & did hair & make up with everyone & awaited the boys. I did a waterfall braid on Cadence that turned out beautiful.
For Lorien we did her hair in curlers so it was nice & curly, then her friend did a beautiful braided twist along the sides.
The theme for the dance was "Luau" so the girls both wore floral dresses that reminded them of lei flowers. I love my girls so much. They insisted on wearing dresses we already had rather than buying new ones (truth be told, they both HATE shopping). That worked for me, & they looked beautiful.
Lorien has the best group of girl friends. I just adore them. They get along SO well & just have a blast together. I was happy they decided to go to the dance together just to have fun. A couple of boys from their group of friends came too which made it a blast.
This was Cadence's first date dance. She was excited & honored to be asked & couldn't wait to hang out with her friends all night, even if each one was on a "date."
Cadence's friend Steven asked her out. He's a sweet kid. I knew she was going to have a blast.
Their group of friends met up at the Japanese Gardens next to our church building in Kaiserslautern. They got their pictures taken before heading to a fireside at the church, then to dinner, then to the dance. They all looked amazing.
It was a great night for both of them. They had a blast.
