(I'm finally catching up on my blog. . . I'm excited to tell you about our trip to Mongolia!)
Friday morning we got the kids to school & got the house settled, organized, & ready for Opa & Oma to take care of while we were away. We said good-bye to our kiddos & Opa dropped us off at the Salt Lake airport.
Check in went smoothly & we were able to check our bags with no issues. We passed through security & made to our gate SUPER fast. We had a quick lunch at Zupa’s (yummy sandwiches, soups, & salads), then made ourselves comfortable at the gate. We sat next to some outgoing missionaries headed to Madagascar. They were pretty excited for their new adventure. And we were excited knowing that we were on our way to pick up Cadence from her missionary adventure. There were lots of emotions & I even cried a little bit. I have missed Cadence so much. I can’t believe it was finally time to pick her up.
Our flight left around 2pm & it was a 10 hour non-stop flight to Paris, France. Trek & I tried to sleep, but no matter how hard we tried, we were too excited & anxious to sleep. We enjoyed watching movies & tv shows on the plane & even had some pretty amazing meals. Airplane food has come a long way over the years. We had some amazing butter chicken & rice for dinner & an egg & feta calzone for breakfast. Both were fantastic & filled our bellies for the day filled with even more traveling.
