October 2025 flew by. I was so busy trying to finish Halloween costumes,
(Thank you Taya for an AMAZING costume theme idea this year)
make Halloween dinners, plan a wedding, & just try to stay afloat.
We had some fun things happen during the month of concerts, dances, performances, & Halloween!
Taya asked Xander to Sadie Hawkins & he answered that he'd be a "Lucky Duck" to go to Sadies with her. They had a blast. Taya picked out BRIGHT NEON PINK SHIRTS for them to wear/match to the dance. They had a ton of fun.
Trek's cadets at the University of Utah ran the BYU/Utah game ball from Rice Eccles Stadium to the point of the mountain where the BYU cadets picked it up & ran it to Provo for the game. BYU beat the Utes, but we always enjoy the "running of the game ball" to show unity between the 2 schools ROTC units.
We had a really fun youth activity called "Frankenstein Plushies." We collected a bunch of stuffed animals from thrift stores & from people in our neighborhood, then the kids took them apart (heads, tails, ears, arms, & legs), then mixed them up & sewed NEW stuffed animals using all the different parts. It was HILARIOUS & the teens absolutely loved it.
Lorien & Elijah got their marriage license!!! Wahoo!
And of course, Bella was adorable like always.
And Halloween was great for all the kids. Canyon had a group of 4 or 5 friends he went around the neighborhood with. He ended up going to a friends house after trick or treating for 30 minutes & watched a movie.
Craiger invited about 15 friends to our neighborhood & they were out trick or treating for a good 2 hours. They also went to one of the friend's house to watch a movie.
Taya & Bladen had a group of about 10 friends over & they had pizza at our house, watched a movie, then went trick or treating around our neighborhood.
It cracks me up because even though I spend SO MUCH TIME making or putting together themed costumes for our family. . . . none of them actually wear them on Halloween. Bladen & Canyon were the only 2 this year that actually wore this year's costumes. It's too much fun to dress up as a friend group I guess. :-)
