For day 5 of camp, we did a quick clean of the whole house. We set a timer for 15 minutes on each of the 3 floors & went to work. All 8 of us (Trek was home) worked non-stop for 15 minutes sweeping & mopping, dusting, picking up garbage, organizing things, etc. After the timer went off, we moved to the 2nd & 3rd floors & did the same thing. It was fun & we got a LOT done. The house looked wonderful.
Cadence was determined to get the pantry looking good. She spent 45 minutes (while the rest of us did the 2nd & 3rd floors) cleaning & organizing our food in our little
"cupboard under the stairs."
Our treat for the day appeared after the kids did their morning chores. They were Happy Hippos to get one of their favorite German sweets.
For our camp activity, we decided to go strawberry picking in the German countryside. It was a beautiful day & we got over 9 pounds of fresh strawberries. Yum.
The family enjoyed wearing their red camp shirts too.
It was kind of a crazy day with appointments & errands, so we decided to do popsicles instead of bake something ourselves. It was hot strawberry picking so cooling off with popsicles was perfect.
For our spotlight dinner, we had Cadence, but we did Lorien on Sunday night even though camp tonsofun was over. We wanted to make sure all the kids got spotlighted during the week because we love them all so much.
Cadence picked tortellini soup with German bread.
And Lorien wanted homemade chic-fil-a nuggets with fries. YUM.
