This was a big homecoming for Lorien this year. She is a Senior so this will be her last homecoming dance in High School. She also got her hair done by our friend & it looked beautiful. She bought a beautiful blue dress with her own money & it was gorgeous on her. She looked just like cinderella.
Lorien was really excited to be with some of her closest friends for the date part of the dance. There were 3 girls & 3 guys in her main group. Lorien asked her German friend, Lukas since she knew he had never been to an American dance before. 2 of her other guy friends asked 2 of her girl friends so they were one cute little group together.
These were the sweet boys in her group. They are a blast.
We took Lorien & Lukas & her friends to a sunflower field here in one of the villages & then met up with the rest of her friends. Her friend group is HUGE. . . . like 24 or 25 kids huge. They figured that a group that big wouldn't be manageable for an actual date so they split up into 3 smaller groups/dates & then met up for pictures, the dance, & the after party. It was a great plan.
I always love pictures. The kids always ask me to take pictures for the dances. I crack up at that because I don't know what I'm doing, but I do it for them because I love them. I loved getting pictures of Lorien trying to explain corsages & boutonnières to Lukas. They don't do dances like this here in Germany & he had NO IDEA what a corsage was. His mom did & made sure he had one which was super cute. Lorien made Lukas' bout & it was beautiful.
Her corsage was beautiful too.
I just loved all the beautiful sunflowers. Germany is so beautiful.
After we took a few pictures of Lorien's smaller group, all the members of the other groups started arriving. It was like herding cats trying to get them all to look at the camera & pose. But they had a lot of fun along the way.
I can't believe this is Lorien's last homecoming. Why do our kids have to grow up? Why can't they stay little forever?
I love Lorien & Lukas' friendship. They have been friends for well over a year. She teaches him all the fun things Americans do & he in turns teaches her all his German traditions. They are such good friends.
After taking pictures, Lorien's group went back to Preston's house & had a fun little fondue dinner on his balcony. Then they went to the dance together & met up with all their other friends.
After the dance, they went to another friend's house & hung out until midnight. It was an absolute blast & Lorien loved every minute of it.
