August Happenings

August flew by this year.  So many random things happened from kiddo date nights to golfing to fixing up the house to just hanging out & having fun together!!

We finally got to see the fruits of our labor in our yard.  After having to replant grass TWICE (once in May & once in July), repair the sprinkler system, fix 1 pipe burst, & all the valves in the front sprinkler system. . . .we FINALLY started seeing some grass in our backyard.  The front yard started to sprout too, but not as well as the back yard.  It was beautiful.

The boys went golfing for the first time in their lives with our church group.  They had so much fun.

Trek & I love to take our kids out on "date nights" for some one on one time with them.  We talk about school, friends, life in general.  It gives us an opportunity to be with them alone where all our attention can be just about them.  We love our date nights.

Trek & I got a crazy idea to build a LARGE desk in our living room where all 4 kiddos can sit & do homework after school each day.  IKEA for the win.  We have a nice long wall on one side of the room & we didn't know if our household goods would arrive before school started or not, so we wanted to make sure they had a good place to work.

One week after getting braces put on, Canyon managed to lose 4 teeth in 24 hours.  He lost one molar right before bed one night, & the somehow managed to lose 3 others throughout the next day.  It was the most bizarre thing ever.  He was pretty excited to get 2 tooth fairy visits in 24 hours.

After our household goods FINALLY arrived on August 18th, the kids were SO happy to have their beds, toys, & blankets back.  I went to tuck the boys in that first night after getting our things & this is how I found Craiger in his bed . . .

He was SO happy to have his stuffed animals back!

Taya & Bladen started fund raising for Band/Orchestra Tour right after school started the 3rd week of August (literally 3 days after we got our household goods).  Bladen was the mattress mascot & stood on the corner for HOURS trying to get people to come buy a mattress.  Taya flipped a sign next to them.  They were hilarious.

Here, both Bladen & Craiger have to make the bread for the sacrament so both of them have been practicing how to make bread.  I am very proud that they both can bake bread without my help.

And August gave me lots of time for snuggles with my kiddos.  They grow up way too fast.
