My Mom's Funeral - April 5, 2025

My mom's funeral was Saturday, April 5th, 2025 in Spanish Fork, UT.  We used a church building by the cemetery.

All the grandchildren sang "He Sent His Son" as part of the funeral program.
The Tribute was given by my Uncle Ryan Sorensen, & my brother (Justin Sorensen) spoke.  His talk was beautiful.  It was full of stories & memories of my sweet mother.  He even played a voice recording of my mom talking about her favorite Christmas.  It was beautiful to hear her voice.  My Uncle Dale & his friend Jeff also sang one of the songs that they used to sing as my mom accompanied them at firesides.

We set up a table in the foyer full of memories of mom.

It was a beautiful thing to see family & friends.  Trek's parents, brother's family, & sister's family all came into town from California & Vegas to be there with us.  Cousin time is the best.

Almost all of my very best friends from school (elementary, middle, jr high, & high) were there.  Joey flew in from Washington & Katie drove up from Cedar City.  Cody, Amanda, & Stephanie live close.  My best friend, Amy was on vacation at that time & Sheralee was in Canada, so we missed them both, but it was fun seeing them all together.

We got a really good picture of all of dad's siblings together.  Little did we know that this would be the last time they'd all be together.  My dad passed away 2 months later.

After the funeral program, we drove to Spanish Fork Cemetery to bury her in her plot there.

As a special tribute to my mom, my dad had cherry balloons blown up so the grandkids could let them go at the gravesite.  It was their final send off to their "Mimi."  We are all going to miss mom so much.

Trek dedicated the grave & we said our final goodbyes, then headed back to the church building for the family luncheon.  My Aunt Sharon decorated the entire gym at the church in pink/red cherries.  My mom would have LOVED it.  She also made CHERRY pies for dessert with little notes that said "Mimi loves you!"

Kirk & Karen Mosley were able to fly up from Arizona to spend some time with my dad.  They have been best friends with my parents since I was a baby.

The whole day was just beautiful.  It was a perfect send off for my beautiful mother.
