The day after Bladen's percussion concert was our church group's pinewood derby.
With everything that happened with my mom, I wasn't very good at helping my kiddos get their pinewood derby cars made. Luckily, I've got the best husband in the world & he took care of it with the kids while I was in the hospital with mom, as well as the week I was preparing for her funeral. Together, Trek & the kids made some pretty creative pinewood derby cars.
Craiger created a cybertruck with metallic paint.
Bladen's car was titled "Roadkill" & was a smashed rat with tire tracks on it.
Taya went full on barbie mode with her car. She make a Barbie flip phone which cracked me up. She cut her car in half lengthwise & added hinges so it would open up like a flip phone. Because it was so big & bulky, her car won the SLOWEST car award. It didn't place in a single race. . . we're talking slow slow slow. But it was the "coolest" car there & she won the "most creative" award.
Canyon made the most adorable SHARK car I've ever seen with fins & all.
This was a really fun activity for the youth in our neighborhood. SO MANY PEOPLE participated & we did 2 hours of races. It was a blast.
At the very end, they did a "POTTER ONLY" race where the 4 kiddos raced each other. Craiger won & Taya lost badly, but it was so much fun.
