This Spring we decided we were tired of looking at the eye sore of rocks on the fenced side of driveway. We've hated it since we moved in 2 years ago & the rocks just get everywhere. There were dead bushes, it was a favorite spot for kids walking home from the middle school to throw their trash (in the dead bushes) & it just frustrated us. We spent 3 whole days JUST REMOVING THE ROCKS. The landlord wanted us to keep them (!!) so we took them by bucket loads to the large dog cage in our backyard where we now have all those tiny rocks stored for him.
Once we got the rocks out, Trek & the boys pulled out all the dead bushes & plants. We kept the unique tree there because it was still growing & thriving. We put a pretty barrier rock/stone barrier around the tree, then took the plants out of everywhere else.
Trek then dug down until he could unearth the sprinkler system. We've always had issues with the sprinklers there. They didn't shoot in the right direction, & when they did, they didn't water far enough so everything in that patch was dying.
Once the sprinkler system was exposed, Bladen & Trek cut it all apart & re-routed & re-installed a lot of sprinklers. He added 2 more sprinkler heads to make sure the whole patch was getting watered properly & changed out sprinklers that weren't working. He found a couple that were clogged with rocks & debris so he took care of those & basically made that side of the sprinkler system brand new.
It was hot sun, back breaking, exhausting work, but they did it in about 2 weeks. Once they got the sprinkler system installed, they recovered it with soil & then planted grass.
The grass started growing beautifully on one side & once Trek was sure that was working, he planted the side closest to the sidewalk.
Now (I need to take an updated photo), it's gorgeous. Lush, green grass is growing beautifully & the sprinklers are working like a dream. Trek & Bladen did an awesome job!
