A few days after my dad's funeral, we had a trip planned to go visit Trek's sister & parents in California. We were SO excited for this vacation. Things had been so stressful & emotionally exhausting that we needed a good vacation.
Our first stop at the airport was the USO. My kids love airport USO's. They have games, TV, & food all for free. We hung out there until it was time to board our plane.
And then we were off to San Jose, CA. . . . our old stomping grounds from 2015-2018. It was like going "home."
Trek's sister had just bought a new house out there & we were excited to see it & to see her family. It's a beautiful property up in the mountains with it's own grape vineyard, gardens, & more. It's gorgeous.
Of course, the minute we walked through the door, the kids got bombarded with their little cousins. They were SO excited to see each other. I have to laugh at how attached those 2 girls are to Craiger & Canyon. It's hilarious to me.
You can see in this picture below how "excited" Canyon was to play barbies, but he did because he loves his little cousins.
We spent the afternoon exploring the property. There were swings, fruit & veggie gardens, a pavillion for parties/dancing, 2 outdoor kitchens with pizza ovens, a gym, a guesthouse, a nanny house, & a barn. It was SO MUCH FUN to walk around & explore it all.
After resting & exploring, we took everybody to go see the new "How to Train Your Dragon" movie which all the kids loved. It was a cool theater where you can order food from your theater seat, & they bring it to you during the movie. The kids LOVED that.
And after the movie we walked around the shopping area & found a fun little ice cream shop where the kids all got some yummy ice cream to enjoy together.
I loved how the girls held hands with Craiger & Canyon. It's too cute.
It was a wonderful first day to a super fun trip.
