June 2025 Happenings

June was a very HARD month for me.  Between my dad passing May 28th, to having to clean out my parents home (getting rid of so many memories in the process), to trying to stay on top of everything else I had already planned for the summer.

Even with all the craziness, we still managed to throw my dad the best "going away" party EVER, had an awesome Girls Camp,  took a trip to CA to visit Trek's sister & parents, helped Taya & Canyon learn their lines & songs for a play, & got Craiger to ALL of his ballroom team rehearsals on time the entire month.

Craiger & Taya both had a HUGE exercise task for the summer for their ballroom teams.  They both had to complete 20+ hours of cardio, 20+ hours of strength training, & 40+ hours of ballroom technique.  At least 2 hours of every day was dedicated to working out or dancing.  I was SO proud of them & how dedicated they were.  Taya, Trek, Craiger, & I ran together quite often throughout the summer.  I like to try to run 10-12 miles a week so it was fun having them along for the ride.

Trek has begun the process of creating a resume & linked in profile.  I can't believe he retires from the military next summer.  It's CRAZY to me.  We got some good headshots for his job hunting paperwork.

And Bella got spoiled even more.

My poor kids.  I promised them pool time this summer & literally got ONE POOL DAY in my busy schedule.  They had a blast.  But we also went to the beach this summer so that counts too.  I wish we could have gone more often.

Canyon put together his Titanic lego set he got for his birthday from Nancy.  He was very proud of that.

And Bella. . . slept on my kiddo's phone & with my other kiddo's blanket.  Spoiled dog.

It was kind of heartbreaking.  Every time I brought something home from my parent's house, Bella would immediately find it, sniff it, then lay down on it.  She misses my mom & dad so much.

More spoiled dog time.

All the wires from my parent's house & my mom's old laptop.  Bella found them & refused to leave them that entire afternoon.

I taught Canyon how to make meatloaf.  He did NOT like having to put his hands in raw meat.

We got the chance to go to my friend from Germany's house (they live just up the road from us now) to watch another one of our friend from Germany's kiddo open up his mission call to Peru.

It was fun having a huge crowd of my old seminary students from Germany there.

And more of sweet Bella making herself at home in our home.

I got to have a few dates with Canyon this month.  He loves getting the $1 ice cream at Sam's Club for our dates.

I got this amazingly perfect photo from my aunt.  This photo was taken at my mom's funeral in April.  It was all 8 of my dad's siblings together for the last time.  I'm SO grateful we got this picture before my dad passed in May.

So June was busy (more photos & posts to come), but wonderful all at the same time.  We were able to get a lot accomplished at my parent's house & with their accounts & vehicles.  Losing parents is hard enough emotionally, but when you tack on all the physical things you have to do & deal with, it's draining.  I'm not going to lie. . . I had some very down moments this month where I just wanted to go to bed & not think anymore.  I'm grateful I'm passed that point now & that now (even towards the end of August) we're finally making some headway with my parents house, assets, & bank accounts.  It's been a really hard summer full of unexpected work & stress.
