40 Plays in 40 Minutes

The week after Taya had the opportunity to do the theater camp, Cadence & Lorien were able to do theater camp.  It was fantastic.  It got them out of the house & doing something the last week we were in Alabama.

Their group auditioned, cast, practiced & memorized, blocked, & performed their play in one week as well.  The play they chose was "40 Plays in 40 Minutes."  It was perfect for a summer camp.  The play ran around 35 minutes long & consisted of 40 short plays/skits.  Cadence & Lorien were both in about 10 of the 40 skits.  They loved it because it was short, easy, & really funny.  They got to work on improvisational skills which was really good for them as well.

This play DID allow some video recording, so here are some links to some of their scenes.  They were really cute & did a great job.

Both girls had a blast.  This was the first time they've ever been in a play TOGETHER which was super fun for them.  They made a lot of great friends & had a wonderful time.

As we left the theater that day, we had to say some VERY hard goodbyes.  This theater has been our "home" since moving to Alabama.  We've made great friends with several members of the theater board, fellow directors, choreographers, costumers, stage managers, set designers, lighting specialists, & amazing actors & friends.  We are truly going to miss Prattville's Way Off Broadway Theater.
