Our 2nd day in Germany was filled from start to finish with in processing, getting German drivers licenses, opening a PO box, grocery shopping on base, etc, etc, etc. . . all those boring adult things you have to do when moving to a new place. We managed to get it all done & still had time to meet up with a family from our new church congregation here at a pool nearby. We got a family season pass & I expect we'll be back a LOT over the summer. The kids made some good friends & had a blast on the water slide, 2 playgrounds, the 4 pools, splash pad, high dive, & lazy river. I forgot to take pics because I was having so much fun getting to know our new friends.
Our 3rd day, we had to force ourselves awake. Jet lag is NO joke. We all woke up about 2 am & fell back asleep at 6. We had to DRAG ourselves out of bed at 8 so we could get SOMETHING done.
The kids & I walked down town in Mackenbach to explore the village more. We found a beautiful fountain, the gorgeous church that chimes every hour, & a bakery. YUM.
At the bakery we bought some brötchen, a mandelnekke (almond triangle), a pretzel, & 2 donuts. The kids were in heaven.
We are loving it here for sure.
