Mosel Rodelbahn, Bernkastel-Kues, & Cochem Castle

After my surprise birthday breakfast, we all hopped in 2 different cars (there are too many of us for our van alone) & drove to the Mosel Valley to ride the rodelbahn there.  We've never been on this one before so we always love trying new ones.

It's the most beautiful part of the Mosel Valley. . . there were Edelweiss flowers, the. mosel river, & grape vineyards lining the hills.  Everything was green & beautiful.

The rodelbahn was a blast.  My kids love racing down them as fast as the sleds will let them go.  This one was a pretty long one too.  I think the ride lasted almost 3 full minutes at full speed.  It was great fun.  Opa, Oma, & Tuhk really liked it too.

After that, I took the kids home while Trek took his parents & Tuhk to Bernkastel-Kues & Cochem Castle.  We had a lot of things to do at home so it allowed us to get those things done, but also allowed the family to go tour a little more of Germany.

They loved the beautiful landscape & all the castles around the Mosel River Valley.

Bernkastel-Kues is always one of our favorite spots.  It's an old medieval town full of history, beautiful buildings, & fabulous food & shops.

Cochem is my favorite castle here.  It's big, it's gorgeous, & it's just the most kingly castle we've ever seen.  I love Cochem village too.  I just love everything about visiting here.
