The Saturday Trek's parents were here in Germany, we all went on a Rhein River Cruise together. It was a 6 hour boat journey down the Rhein River to see TONS of castles. There were restaurants on the boat & plenty of wonderful views.
We sat in a few different places during our 6 hour tour. Every spot was great. We especially loved sitting at the front of the boat outside where we could feel the fresh air & see the castles around every corner.
There were SO MANY CASTLES. Too many to count actually. We enjoyed every second of it & took well over a thousand pictures trying to get the best angles of every castle we saw. It was SO MUCH FUN.
We had an amazing brunch on the boat. Mine was the best of the bunch. I had German bread with a large slice of aged cheese, greens, tomatoes, & cucumbers on top. It was SO delicious.
The Lorelei Cliff is beautiful. Trek loves the story of the siren Lorelei.
We got on the boat in Koblenz & then took it six hours down to Rudesheim. I love Rudesheim. It's such a cute little village. We got off there, had dinner, & rode the train back to Koblenz to pick up our van.
We had dinner at a cute little German restaurant.
I had a big plate of bratkartoffeln, Trek had a bratwurst, & I got to drink my favorite red grape juice.
Opa found his way into a little shed located on the restaurant's property. Inside was a flight of stairs that led down to a kegel lane. Some Germany guys were bowling & let Opa join them. We could hear them chanting "Dan, Dan, Dan, Dan!" It was hilarious.
The drosselgasse is a cute little street in Rudesheim where there are shops, ivy, & other beautiful authentic German architecture. It's one of my favorites.
We walked through the village to get back to the train station where we hopped on a train & rode it back to Koblenz where our car was.
It was a beautiful day that made us feel like royalty seeing all those amazing castles.
