After exploring the rainforest, we headed back to San Juan, Puerto Rico & spent some time in Castle Cristobal. We explored the roof, the towers, the dungeon, & the grounds themselves. My kids told me it felt good to be exploring something "old" again. It's been 3 years since we left Germany & we all definitely miss visiting these old landmarks that teach us so much about history.

After the castle, we walked the streets of Puerto Rico & window shopped as we headed back to the ship.
The sun was blaring so we made sure to put on a ton of sunscreen since we didn't wear any to the rainforest. Craiger, kind of over did it. He was NOT going to get sunburned like he did kayaking the day before.
On our way back to the boat, we ran into a man & his wife & their 6 parrots. We waited in a short line & paid him to let us take some pictures with the parrots. This totally was the cherry on top of the day. It was SO MUCH FUN to hold the parrots & get so much time with them. The kids loved it too.

On our way back to the ship, I of course sprained my ankle. I always tend to do that at the worst times. It gave everyone a good laugh & I could hobble fine back to the ship, but I wouldn't be running around much for the rest of the day for sure.
