Monkey Mountain - France

Over Veteren's Day Weekend, we decided to take a short trip down to Colmar, France.  We met up with our friends & their kids & planned a really fun vacation together.  The kids were happy to have friends to travel with & I was happy to have friends to play games with at night.  It was the best idea ever.

Our first stop was Monkey Mountain on the way to Colmar.  Monkey Mountain is exactly what it sounds like.  It's a monkey preserve where monkeys roam free & you get to walk around & be with them.  My kids were in heaven.  The baby monkeys were the cutest things ever.  There were 12 babies there that day & we followed them around the whole time.  They were adorable.

Other monkeys were HUGE.  I expected this preserve to be small monkeys like you see in the movies, but they were actually big primates that could probably attack a human if they wanted to.  I kind of laugh at how "safe" things are in Europe.  Their motto is "Don't Be Stupid!" & it works.  So we got to hang out & walk around with these monkeys, & it was amazing.

I was surprised at how close we got to them.  They didn't even care.

Koenigsbourg Castle could be seen from Monkey Mountain which was pretty cool too.  We couldn't wait to see the castle too.

Outside of the monkey portion of monkey mountain, there was a HUGE obstacle course where WE get to be the MONKEYS.  All of us had a blast on this.

It was a lot of fun.  I'm glad we stopped her on our way to Colmar.  It was SO worth it.
