Provo Invitational Ballroom Competition 2026 - Craiger & Taya

Craiger's First Ballroom (& Taya's 3rd) Competition was in January.
This year they all got to ride the bus.  We got up at 4:30am, took an hour to do Taya's make-up & hair (which is awesome at now & can do herself), then get Craiger's hair slicked & into their underclothing for performances.

They loaded the bus at 6:20am & were off to the Provo Invitational.

Craiger got to perform in syllabus this time around, but it started at 7am & I had a temple trip so I wasn't able to go watch him.  He only did one round, (it's an elimination competition where all the dancers dance in heats of 20 couples & couples are eliminated until they have a 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place), but I'm super proud of him.  He's still learning how all the ballroom stuff works & he's been training super hard.

Craiger did get to perform his jive which took 4th place for the night which was awesome.

After the syllabus competition, the kids had about 4 hours until they competed with their show pieces so they all went to the mall for lunch & some bowling & arcade fun.  I think this was the favorite part of the day.

The Varsity Team's first big performance was the Jive.  Craiger was in that one so he was super excited to perform.  (In Ballroom, you audition for each of the dances.  There are 12 boys/12 girls on the team, but most of the dances are for 8 couples).  The Jive was one of the dances Craiger got into & he's been working so hard to perfect it.

They did a great job & took 4th place in the swing competition.

The Varsity team also competed with their Tango & Cha Cha & did great in those as well.

The JV Team (Taya's Team) competed in the Samba & the Waltz.  Taya was in the Samba.  I love their bright green dresses for this one.  They are SO cute.  The Samba took 3rd place in the Latin category.  They did AMAZING.

I'm so proud of how hard these kids have worked.  They have learned so much & practice so hard.  They make my heart happy.
