Since we are on Easter #2 stuck in quarantine lockdown due to COVID-19, a few friends of mine put together another geo-caching egg hunt. This year there were 4 of us & we each did 10 eggs in an area near our houses. 4 egg hunts total.
My kids wanted to do a Harry Potter themed egg hunt again this year, so we got to work painting all our eggs. We had fun deciding which Harry Potter characters to use & how to paint them to make them recognizable. Lorien, Cadence, Taya, & I had a blast painting all day one Saturday.
Trek & I went & hid the eggs & assigned them their 3 words (using the app what3words). Then we sent the kids the 3 word clues & had them search for our hidden Harry Potter eggs. They found them all just fine.
Fred & George were my favorite this year. I love Fred & George.
Ron was hidden in a trimmed tree by the tree farm.
Luna was at the beehive behind our house.
Hagrid was in a cool tripod we found near the forest & by the barefoot course in our farmland.
Harry cracked me up. We made a broom out of a pen & hung him up high in a tree like he was flying on his broomstick.
Hedwig was hiding in the beautiful apple orchard.
And Snape was sneaking near the park bench.
Voldemort was peeking in the thickets of trees & blackberry bushes on the bike trail. He got stolen twice so I had to repaint him a few times that week.
Dumbledore found his home in a tree stump near some corn fields.
And Hermione was in a tree with all the pretty flowers.
We also went & did one of the other egg hunts around Ombachsee (the lake near our house). They hid their eggs HARD. The kids LOVED really having to look hard for them.
It was a great way to celebrate an easter egg hunt without having to meet in person. I still wish we could have been with friends, but even with family it was a great way to spend Easter week.
