It's GREAT to be EIGHT!
In our church, you can choose to be baptized a member of our church when you turn 8 years old. Canyon has been awaiting his special day for quite some time now. He couldn't wait to get baptized!
My dear friend & Canyon's adopted "Nana" Luti Gallahar made him some leis for his special day. She was our dear friend in CA. She is from Tonga & just adopted our family into hers while we lived there. We miss her so much. She made a beautiful blue & red flower lei along with some yummy candy leis too. Canyon was in HEAVEN.
Because of COVID rules, we could only have immediate family, the bishop, & a couple of friends (Cadence's PROM group) there in person, so it was a small baptism, but Canyon didn't care. He was just SO excited to get baptized.
I made Baptismal Covenant "Kits" to hand out to remind us what covenants we make with our Heavenly Father at baptism. Using Kit Kats, you can remember them easily.
K - Keep His commandments.
A - Always remember Him.
T - Take His name upon you.
Trek set up all the techie stuff so our friends & family all around the world could be a part of his special day.
Uncle Justin & Uncle Tuhk spoke via zoom. Tuhk gave a talk on Baptism & Justin spoke about the Holy Ghost. It's amazing to have technology to allow us all to be together for special occasions.
Two of Cadence's friends (also Canyon's buddies) were the witnesses for the baptism. Gideon & Ella have been friends of the family since we moved here & he was excited to have them be his witnesses.
It was so much fun to have the prom kids attend together. It made it SO special for Canyon.
Congrats Canyon! We are SO proud of the amazing young man you are becoming.
