For Memorial Day, we decided to pack up & travel literally 24 hours before we left. We called 2 of our family friends & invited them to come along & we went on the most amazing impromptu vacation for 4 days to the Harz Mountains (one of the places that Trek served his mission). It's only 4 hours from our house & it was a TON of fun.
Our first stop was an amusement park / animal park / ropes course. Unfortunately COVID is still around so most of it was closed, but we had a blast looking at all the animals & played on the playgrounds. The kids get extra excited when friends are with us so having friends there made it even more fun.
Now that travel restrictions are much lighter (in June/July) I highly recommend checking this place out. It was lovely. The parks were great. The food was amazing. And the animals were a blast to play with. I'm sure it's even more exciting with the amusement park open & the ropes course running.

After spending the day at the park, we headed into Bad Sascha where our Airbnb's were. We had 3 families vacationing so we needed 3 different hotels & were able to find 3 within a 5 minute walk of each other. The kids were in heaven having everyone SO close.
We stopped by a döner shop to order some dinner & then headed back to the houses for games & fun.
