Girls Camp 2025

Just a few days after my dad passed away, Taya & I went to girls camp with our church youth group for 4 days in Eden, Utah.  It was gorgeous up there.

The girls were VERY excited to be doing archery & axe throwing this year.

And food was also always a favorite.  These teenage girls really know how to work up an appetite.  I couldn't believe how much they ate!  We worked them hard every day so we knew they'd be starving come meal times.

And every girls camp needs crafts.  This year we did "Look Unto Christ" lanterns, prayer boards, & cards, bracelets, & braided hair.  I think the girls loved those.

The 2nd day of camp, we took all the girls on a 1.5 mile hike.  It was super easy & they did great.  We hiked up the canyon & found this enormous paper airplane statue in the middle of nowhere.  The girls took lots of pictures of it.

After the hike we stopped at Maverick for some slushies.

The rest of the afternoon we spent cleaning the bathrooms, playing 9 square, doing the ropes course, & swinging on swings.

Campfire time was my favorite time at camp.  I especially loved when we played werewolf as a group.  There were 25 of us & those werewolf games got pretty crazy.  We were all laughing by the end of the night.

Thursday night we did a wonderful "Women of Faith" faith walk where each of the adult leaders focused on one woman of faith from the bible, book of mormon, or our church history.  The girls would walk with the lanterns they made to each leader & hear the story of the woman of faith.  It was dark, peaceful, & I could truly feel the spirit.  I think the girls could too.

Friday was our beach day.  We drove the girls to the reservoir up there for some lake fun.  We first took them to an old cemetery full of graves from the 1700's.  We let the girls each place some flags on gravesites of their choice, then we took them to the beach to swim & play on paddleboards & canoes for the rest of the afternoon.  Bishop (Trek) joined us for the day & we all had a blast.  And the best part?  NOBODY got sunburned this year.

We had a fun little fireside that Bishop put on for us Friday night, then the girls pulled an all nighter in their tents playing games & chatting with each other.

Saturday morning, we woke up early & had breakfast, packed up camp, & headed home.  It was a wonderful camp.
