July FLEW for us. We were so busy working on my parent's house, planning 2 weddings (though neither girl was engaged just yet, we were still in planning mode), Craiger was busy doing ballroom 2-3 times a week, & Taya & Canyon were finishing up their play.
4th of July was fun. We took it easy & played games as a family, then went to the Sandy parade that evening. We watched fireworks from our street & just enjoyed being together.
I had a lovely birthday. Hooray for 44! My friend Nancy got me all sorts of fun things, including a Ninja Creami! SO FUN. Trek & the kids got me 2 new board games!!!! You know how much I love those. The family made me dinner & cleaned it all up too. I just played board games all day. It was heaven for me.
The morning of my birthday, an amazon package arrived on my doorstep & inside was a cherry water bottle. There was no note, no gift receipt, nothing. It was almost as if my mom had sent me a "Happy Birthday" from heaven. The cherries reminded me of her & I had a good cry thinking about it.
(Tylee, Trek's sister was the one that sent it, but I didn't find that out for a few weeks. Bless her heart. She doesn't realize how much I needed those two weeks to reflect on my mom.)
We all went to several weddings this summer, but my favorite was for 2 of my piano students (& seminary students) from Germany. They married each other & that just makes me smile. There were so many wonderful people from Germany at that reception. It made my heart happy.
Lorien & Elijah are so cute. I'm excited to add 2 new "sons" to our family this year.
During our many rehearsals for the play at East High School in Salt Lake, I was able to take Canyon & Taya to the U to visit Trek at his work. He gave them a tour of the school.
We also worked & worked & worked this month. We finally got everything OUT of my parent's house. Having 2 girls getting married this year worked out beautifully with cleaning out my parents house. They will get to have TV's, couches, beds, a piano, & more for their future homes because we needed to get rid of them so we could put the house on the market. . . . & they needed them for when they are poor newlyweds.
We loaded everything up into a UHAUL & put it in a storage unit until they move into apartments as married couples. (At this point neither of them were engaged, but we knew it was coming).
Once everything was out of the house, we finally were able to put my parent's house on the market. (With it now being August, it's been a roller coaster. We've had lots of people interested in the house. We've been under contract 3 times now. . . 2 ended horribly, but we are set to close on Friday & fingers crossed this one goes through well. We've been worried about whether or not we'd have to pay to sell it (my parents bought the house only 3 years ago $120,000 over market value) but we're going to break even which is a miracle for us.
We swam a lot in July. The kids loved that.
And Bella continued to be cute. She is now fully integrated into our family & she LOVES us & we love her.
We took her to the vet & got all her shots caught up, then took her to a groomer & now she's even cuter than she was before (if that's even possible). We love her so much.
For the 24th of July we enjoyed watching fireworks on our street. We have some fun neighbors who LOVE buying a TON of fireworks. They always let us watch which is a ton of fun.
And the kiddos performed their play this month at East High School (where High School Musical was filmed). Our dressing rooms were right next to Sharpay's locker so Taya insisted on getting a picture with it.
July flew by, but it was filled with a lot of fun memories.
