July Happenings

July was beautiful.  Sometimes you just have to step back & enjoy the beauty of your surroundings.  Germany is just the most beautiful place on earth to me.  It is my heaven & I'm ever so grateful to live here.

Bladen & some friends were bored & decided to go magnet fishing in one of the creeks here.  They threw in a large magnet & found all sorts of things:
coins, hooks, bullets, & more.

Lorien & Trek went out on a daddy daughter date & found an adorable little diner in our small village.  They had American style burgers & fries (but the burger had PB & J, blueberries raspberry jam & syrup on it too, yet it was delicious).

There in the diner was a kegeling alley.  Kegeling is like American bowling, but with a few minor differences.  The ball is small & can be held in your hand.  The lane is really narrow & is shaped like a half-pipe so the ball rolls left to right to left all the way to the pins.  The pins fall down just like regular bowling, but they are held up by strings so once your turn is over, the strings pull them back up like a puppet & set them down.  Then you mark your score on the chalkboard.  It's super cute & fun.

I found a little bit of time to paint & draw this month too.  I drew a picture of the rock formations I loved in Portugal with colored pencils, then did a watercolor of the rolling green hills here in Germany.

Overall, it was a lovely month.
