After our amazing bike tour, we walked towards the shopping district to visit Mozart's house. There were so many beautiful statues & fountains along the way that we kept stopping for pictures of everything. Salzburg really is amazingly beautiful.
Once we were in the shopping district, we grabbed some lunch then headed to Mozart's house. His house is literally in the middle of all these shops. It blends in with them. You'd never know it was his house if there weren't signs on it.
The tour was self guided so you just wander from room to room & experience the interesting things from Mozart's childhood & young adult life.
They had some hand written manuscript in the museum. This was Leopold Mozart's work (W A Mozart's father).
And this music is written by Wolfgang Mozart.
We saw his first violin.
his wig,
and many of his early pianos.
After exploring the city more, we headed to a small town north of Salzburg (that will be another blog post), then dropped the kids off at the hotel to play board games & watch movies while Trek & I dolled ourselves up for a Mozart concert in the castle.
Together we headed back to the city center. We stopped by that old restaurant we saw earlier in the day.
Then headed up the tram to go to the castle.
The sunset from the castle was GORGEOUS.
The Mozart concert we attended was in the arms room of the castle. It was such a cute concert. It was a quartet (2 violins, a viola, & a cello), & they did an amazing job. The concert lasted about 2 hours & was just lovely. I was SO excited to be there enjoying the music of Mozart in his birthplace.
