Our last day in Normandy, we woke up early & walked from our little AirBNB to the beach. We didn't realize our hotel was SO close to Gold Beach. It was perfect.
On Gold Beach, there were several bunkers & canons/machine guns still there. Anyone can see them & touch them & explore them. The kids had a blast exploring all the bunkers.
On our way home we stopped by a French eatery & bought some French Macarons & Crepes. Yum.
I love that we live so close to the French border.
It was a wonderful weekend trip. We learned history, had great food, & loved being together.
