For Taya's 17th Birthday Party, she chose the theme: Masquerade. She planned the whole thing on her own (my teens are starting to find the fun in planning these parties on their own, I just help where help is needed/asked for).
This year she has friends! Last year for her sweet 16, it was rough. We invited several people, but we were still new & she only had about 4 people show up. This year she had about 12 people show up from FSY, school, & the ladies ballroom team, plus siblings & cousins. It was really great.
She wanted to have a Masquerade Ball so we set up a mask making station & invited everyone to attend in "dressed for a ball."
Instead of a cake & ice cream, she wanted finger desserts which was a lot of fun. We had brownies, cookies, muffins, & more little treats that were easy to eat. There was something for everyone.
Trek decorated the backyard with twinkle lights & added a TV so that they could do karaoke & play Just Dance.
Once everyone arrived, I stepped back & let Taya do her thing. It was a great party. She said it was her favorite party ever. They spent the night making masks, eating, talking, singing karaoke, & playing just dance in ball gowns. It was a lot of fun.
Her friends got her all sorts of fun things. Her favorite gift was from her boyfriend, Jay. He calls her Tinkerbell so he got her a Tinkerbell lamp for her room. They are so darling together.
Happy Birthday Taya!
