There is nothing in the world like camping with friends. We went on a two day campout with 2 families that are the best of friends with us. We had SO MUCH FUN.
All 3 families have kids the same ages & when they're together they are like family. It's SO MUCH FUN.
At this particular campground area, there is a wonderful trail that leads straight down to a castle ruin in the valley. It's a great hike & the kids loved exploring the castle.
The actual camping part was really fun too. We had an amazing campsite with 3 cabins. Each cabin had 8 beds inside which was perfect for our big families. We had the entire place all to ourselves & it was perfect.
How many stake presidency meembers does it take to change a light bulb? Apparentely all 3.
The kids loved just being kids together. They crammed into cars, made silly videos, played board games, chased each other around the campsite. It was SO much fun for them.
Even Canyon had a little buddy to hang out with. Everyone had a friend & everyone was in heaven.
At night, we stayed up late & played laser tag for hours on end.
It was also fun to see all the fireflies flying around. We even got a few. I don't think I've ever seen these kids happier.
Saturday morning, a small crew got up at the crack of dawn to run 10 miles through the forests & fields around our campsite.
They found an amazing little celtic village replica in the middle of nowhere.
There was also a river that was fun to play in.
But the kids absolutely adored playing capture the flag, steal the bacon, & ghosts in the graveyard together until the second we had to leave.
It really was the highlight trip of our summer vacation. The kids will remember this camping trip forever. I'm so grateful for these 2 families that are such wonderful friends to us. We love them so much.
