Canyon's 7th Birthday

Another birthday in the Potter house!!!  This time it was my baby boy who isn't much of a baby anymore.  Canyon turned 7 years old on May 13th.

For his birthday breakfast he chose toaster strudels, bacon, sausage, bananas, & a birthday ding dong.

When he blew out his candle he told me straight out that he wished COVID would go away so he could play with his friends.  Poor kid.  This quarantine has been especially hard on my extroverted kids.  They miss being with friends.

Seven years old & TOOTHLESS.

My friend Nancy sent Canyon all sorts of fun things for his birthday
this year.  He got lots of coloring books & crayons, some swim trunks, a
Mario hat, a Mario beach towel, a Mario backpack, & Mario Monopoly.

Opa & Oma sent him a Slytherin Robe & Sword
in the Stone

Our cousins sent him the most adorable hand drawn
notes ever.

Mimi & Baba sent him Robin Hood & Up

From his siblings he got his very own Switch remote.

And then Trek & I got him Mario Odyssey.

Canyon has always been our Mario loving kid.  He loves Mario everything.  Since we couldn't have an actual party, I got him some Mario perler bead crafts to do with his brothers & sisters on his birthday.  They all spent HOURS creating Mario characters & props to be ironed together, then played with.

He loved going to school "virtually" & having both his German class & his American class sing happy birthday to him over google meets.  It was super fun & it made him feel special.

He was EXTRA excited to get Mario Odyssey for the Nintendo Switch.  He's been wanting that game for years now, so he was thrilled about it.  He played for 2 hours on his actual birthday & then again two days later & the little stinker managed to beat the entire game in less than 4 hours of game play.  I remember when I was a kid it took us MONTHS to beat Mario games.  Now that he's beat it, he plays it again, but focuses on all the mini-games & collecting moons & all the fun things like that.  He loves it.

His first grade teacher made a surprise visit on his birthday which meant the world to him.  We miss school SO much.

For his birthday dinner he wanted his FAVORITE food. . . a pasta salad dish that I call Southwestern Pasta Salad (pasta, beans, corn, tons of veggies, salsa & mayo), rolls, mushrooms (his other favorite food) & bananas.  Look at the adorable perler bead creations the kids made all day.  They look SO cute.

The main part of his "birthday" happened the Saturday after his birthday when daddy could be home all day with us.  I'll post about our real life Mario Kart parody in another post after this one.

Happy happy birthday to my gorgeously blue eyed boy.  I love you so much.  Thank you for rounding out our little family so perfectly.  We wouldn't be the same without you.
