Potter Family Reunion 2023 - Park City, UT - Hiking Fun

Tylee is amazing.  She rented this super fun ski house up in Park City for our summer family reunion this year.  She wasn't able to even make it, but she took the time to make sure we all were comfortable, loved, & taken care of.  I swear to you, she is the most giving person I've ever known & such a wonderful example to me.

The ski house was HUGE.  There were several bedrooms, bathrooms, & places to hang out for our huge family.  We were so excited to see aunts, uncles, & cousins we haven't seen in years.

We got there late the first night as everyone started to arrive.  We had Opa & Oma, Tuhk, Talon & Carolyn & their kids, & us that first night.  First thing the next morning, we got up & decided to do a family hike while we waited for Triskin & Craig & Tarrish & John to fly in.  Taya was at our church's girls camp, but we planned on picking her up the 2nd day so she wouldn't miss out on too much.

While we got all the kids ready, Trek went out & ran the hiking trail to see if he thought our kids/families would be able to make it.  Our family hikes a lot & we're used to doing lots of miles in the wildernesses of the world, but I know hiking isn't everyone's thing so we decided to let Trek scope the trail first to see if it was doable.  Along the way he had an encounter with a full grown moose.  Should he have run away?  YES.  Did he?  Of course not.  The stinker could have really gotten hurt, but you know Trek, he managed to have quite the experience with this moose friend.

Tylee had sent each of the kids a personalized hiking backpack & waterbottle.  The kids LOVED them.  We loaded them up with snacks for the hike.

Trek did determine that the original hike was way too long at 5 miles, so he shortened it to about 2 miles for the family & it was lovely.  The hills were beautiful & reminded us of Germany & it was so good to be with family again.

The hike ended in a little industrial area of Park City where we found a little shop called "LoLo's Cafe."  Lorien liked that.

Then we headed back to the house to wait for Tarrish & John who would be arriving any second.
