One of the fun things we did when my brother & his family was in town was take them to Great America. It's only 5 miles from our house & it's a blast.
It's actually quite expensive to get in, but if you order tickets online you get a discount. Well, there were 13 of us & there was an amazing "group price" if you bought 15 or more tickets. It was cheaper to buy 15 than to buy 13 at the military rate so we did that & gifted the extra 2 tickets to our neighbors.
The kids had SO MUCH FUN. Cadence, Lorien, & Korbyn spent the most of the day with Justin & Trek riding the grown up roller coasters. Cari & I took the little ones to all the fun kid rides.
We even got to see Snoopy.
The bumper cars were by far their favorite ride. I swear we picked the perfect day to go to the park. There were NO LINE anywhere. They literally stayed on the bumper cars 7 times in a row before we MADE them get off. Then we wound up coming back to them about 5 more times after that.
We rode pretty much everything in the park we wanted to ride by the time we hit lunchtime. Since we live so close, we all hopped in the car & went home to make sandwiches. While we were there, we all changed into our swim suits & went back to the Great America water park for the 2nd half of the day.
They had TONS of water slides, a kid pool, a lazy river, & a wave pool to play in. We played until the kids could hardly stand up anymore. They were SO exhausted. It was seriously a blast. I can't wait to go back next year with my kids. I had no idea it would be that fun. I'm so glad we live SO close to such a fun amusement park.
