Two days after all of our things were loaded up on a big truck ready to go to UT, Trek had to leave for 2 weeks of training in the states. Since he will be the commander of his new unit, he had to be trained on how to be a commander in San Antonio. He spent a week there exploring, learning, & having fun with all the new commanders.
He got to attend a basic training graduation which brought back so many memories of his own basic training graduation right before we got married in 2001.
After a week in San Antonio, he hopped on a plane & flew to UT to start training in his new unit. While he was there he got the keys to our new house & we officially "moved in" (even though we're still in Germany). The entire week he'd go to his new office & learn his new job, then he'd spend his nights fixing up the house. We have a really big yard in this house so he wanted to go & fertilize it & plant some new grass seed since it was pretty dead. He's super excited about the house though. It's really really nice. I can't wait to see it. I'm SO happy we have somewhere to go as soon as we get back to the states.
My dad & Trek's parents all took turns helping him weed the flower beds, the garden beds, & the yard itself. It was in pretty bad shape. The landlord is fixing up the greenhouse & I'm excited to plant some veggies to grow year round.
Finally, on Sunday (after a cancelled flight & another delay), he finally made it home to us. It was later than planned, but we were SO happy to have him home after 2 long weeks.
