When the end of the school year creeps up on you, so do all the awards ceremonies, concerts, & end of the year parties. School ends in May here in AL so the entire month of May seemed like one big concert/ceremony/party. We had a blast though.
Cadence performed in her last band concert here in AL. They have LOVED having an actual oboe in their band. Oboists are rare & are loved when they are around. They are very sad to lose Cadence after this year.
It was a wonderful concert. Here are some of the highlights.
Band here in AL has been great for Cadence. She loved marching band (playing piano), made tons of friends, & just loved playing her oboe.
This girl makes me so proud.
A few days after the final concert, the band had an awards ceremony night where they recognized all the graduating seniors & gave out band awards.
Cadence was awarded
The Instrumentalist Magazine Musicianship Award
in recognition of outstanding musicianship & distinguished musical excellence. It was the first time this award has been awarded to anyone other than a Senior at this school. Her band directors LOVED her. She is such a wonderful girl & SO good at her oboe. She makes this mommy proud.
Alabama is going to miss her.
