Happy 6th Birthday to my baby who's not really a baby anymore. Canyon turned 6 years old on May 13th. By the 13th, our house would be completely empty of all furniture & household goods, so we opted to tell him his birthday was a week before that so we could celebrate properly. He was excited to have an "early birthday."
For his birthday breakfast he wanted Toaster Strudels, oranges, bacon, & a baseball cupcake. He was pretty excited about those baseball cupcakes.
The whole family got in on the fun.
He got tons of clothes, Mario color books, & some crayons from my friend Nancy.
Mimi & Baba gave him a cool Pokemon.
Opa & Oma got him DVD's of his all time favorite TV Show: Avenger's Assemble.
For his birthday dinner he had Chick Fil A nuggets, strawberries, & fries/tater tots (trying to clean out the freezer).
On his actual birthday, I was able to sneak over to his school & have lunch at the "special table" in the lunchroom. He was SO excited to have me there.
After lunch, we brought cupcakes to his whole class & had extra recess time outside. It was a blast.
Since we didn't do big parties this year, we picked up Canyon's best friend Lillianna & took the two of them to Chick Fil A for dinner & ice cream. Lillianna was moving too so we had to grab her for a get together before she left for CO. These two are hilarious together. Really, truly, the best of friends.
After dinner we went back to the house & watched Lego Movie 2. Lillianna gave Canyon the best present ever. . . a Mario hat & a memory book with all the pictures of the 2 of them together from this year. Her mom is my best friend & so we've done everything together for the last year. She had TONS of pictures of Canyon & Lillianna together. It was the sweetest, most thoughtful gift ever.
She made a memory book for Lillianna as well so they both had memories of each other before they both wound up on opposite sides of the world.
These two will never forget each other. We will meet again, I'll make sure of it. Goodbye is never goodbye, just a see you later.
Happy Birthday Canyonland! We love you SO much.
