Washington DC Temple

The last few days my parents were here, we took them on a mini-vacation to Washington DC.  I had never been before & though everyone else had, they weren't able to see much the last time they visited so we were excited to see the many sights of the area.

The first thing we did was go to the temple.  It's been MONTHS since Trek & I were able to go to the temple together.  With moving 4 times in one year, being pregnant on bed rest, & then figuring out how to survive with 6 kids (one of them a newborn).  We were both THRILLED to get the chance to go together.

It was great for Mom to be there.  It's been 2 years since she's been to the temple for medical reasons & though she was only able to do a few ordinances, she was a real trouper.  In one of the bathrooms, she started a conversation with 2 other ladies who have also had some medical issues this year & come to find out, they were in my brother's branch on his mission in West Virginia.  One of the ladies used to feed Justin EVERY SINGLE WEEK when he was in their area.  Talk about a SMALL WORLD.

The Washington DC temple is GORGEOUS.  It's SO tall & beautiful inside & out.

The temple was the perfect way to start out our vacation.  I wouldn't have had it any other way.
