As a parent, it's so weird when you kids become adults & leave the house. You don't see them as often (even though you love them more than anything & miss them terribly), & they're off having their own celebrations! We love Lorien so much & love that she is thriving at college.
We celebrated her 19th birthday at my parents house on a Sunday night when we could all be together. We had her favorite dinner (Baba cooked dinner), then opened presents from us, my parents, & my friend Nancy.
My parents got her some temple shoes. She planned to go to the temple to receive her own endowment the Saturday after Cadence came home in March. I was proud of her for wanting to have her white clothing as birthday gifts.
Nancy sent her a temple bag for her temple clothing as well as some fun things for her kitchen/culinary school, clothes, & other fun college stuff.
The kids got her some Emperor's New Groove earrings, headbands, & a hilarious Nicolaus Cage mug that says "You're My National Treasure."
We got her some really nice stainless steel bowls. She's been asking for these for a while now. She was SO happy to finally have them.
Happy Birthday Lorien. We love you.
