Camp Tonsofun 2020 - Day 3

Day 3 was busy with appointments & other things so our chore for the day was relatively easy.  Our living area on the 3rd floor (because we don't have a living/family room downstairs on the first floor) needed a little TLC so we cleaned it really really well, organized everything, & made it all beautiful for summer.

It was a mess because of virtual school.  We had thrown things in places they didn't belong to make room for extra tables & desks for computer space.  Everything was unorganized & just looked bad.

Now the dresser in the room has all of our coloring books, markers, crayons, activity books, & craft supplies inside organized neatly.

Our game shelf is nice & clean & organized as well.

The floors are all swept & mopped & "shine like the top of the Chrysler building" (for my Annie fans out there).

We got rid of a lot of books. . . believe it or not.  Canyon is reading at a 3rd-4th grade reading level (he'll be in 2nd grade next year), so it was finally time to get rid of the early reader books, the magic treehouse (he's read ALL of them), & the 1st & 2nd grade level books.  Now all our books fit with room for more (YAY), & the kids are reading like crazy this summer because they can actually see what books we have now.

We got rid of some of our "baby games" because the kids have outgrown them.  Some of our games no longer worked or were missing pieces.  We got rid of 2 garbage bags worth of books, games, garbage, & other things.

Hooray for a beautiful living room.

The treat for the day was given to them after they did their dinner chores.

For baking, I taught the kids how to make their favorite snack, protein balls.  My kids love them & had never made them before.  They were suprised at some of the ingredients they'd never heard of before (like flax seed).

For the craft, we broke out our perler beads & made perler bead creations.  The kids spent HOURS making fun things.

I also gave the kiddos a new game to play since we were cleaning the "game room."  I found this at the BX & it is a BLAST.  It's called color brain & it's the Disney version of the game.  You break off into teams & have a stack of cards with colors on them.  One card is red, another is orange, etc.  One person asks the question (What 5 colors are in the Incredibles Costumes?), & as a team you have to decide which cards (colors) are in the answer.  If you're right you get a point, etc.

For dinner, it was Cragier's spotlight.  He chose pepperjack chicken enchiladas, strawberries, & broccoli.  I love the little baby yoda he made with his perler beads too.
