Humbergturm (Rapunzel's Tower)

In June, Germany finally started opening things up again, with very strict guidelines of course, but it was SOMETHING.  We were also allowed to now meet with one other household/family in or out of our houses.  This was huge.  We haven't had friends over in ages so this was a big deal.

Since we were officially allowed to explore again, we decided to hike to Humbergturm in Kaiserslautern.  They call it Rapunzel's Tower.  It's literally a giant tower in the middle of the forest.  It's about a 2 mile hike up the mountain to get there, but it's wasn't too strenuous.  The kids did just fine. . . & having some family friends with us made it even more fun.

After hiking for 2 miles, you come into this glade opening & the tower just stands there all by itself overlooking Kaiserslautern City.  It's beautiful.  We were able to have a small picnic in front of the tower, then went up the stairs to see the view from the top.  It was amazing.

It was a great hike, a fun picnic, & just an all around good time.  It feels SO good to be able to travel & explore again.
