Morocco - Day 2 - Ouarzazate

After that, we made our way to our hotel in Ourazazate.

We passed the CLA Studios on the way in which is where a bunch of movies were filmed as well.

Our hotel was SUPER FANCY.  We were in 2 rooms again & once again the rooms were on the outside of a central open air courtyard inside.  I loved those open air courtyards.  They’re so cool. When we arrived they served us tea. . . well, water & peppermint since we told them we don’t drink tea.  Then they told us to wash up before dinner.  We didn’t have time for lunch that day so we were starving.

We learned this night that a typical Moroccan dinner/lunch is served in 3-4 courses.  First we had some gourd soup, then a green olive quiche.  The main course was Tajin which was meat cooked in a clay pot with prunes & pears, & we had caramel flan for dessert.  Everybody pretty much wanted to die, but I loved it.  I thought it was all delicious.  Quiche was tough for me because I don’t normally eat eggs, but it wasn’t bad.  I ate it all.  Dad did really good at trying everything too.  The kids were hilarious though.  We told them it was an insult to not eat the food given to them & they were such good sports.  Bladen was gagging but got most of it down, Canyon & Craiger were crying at some point.  I think Taya hid some food in her napkin. . . they definitely did try for the most part & I was proud of them.

There was a beautiful pool in the back (but it was way too cold to swim).

After dinner we went to bed.

Trek woke up early to try to run, but the doors were locked & he couldn't get out. . . so he explored our hotel & took some pictures of the landscape from the windows.

And then Day 3 of our adventure went into full swing.
