The weekend after we got back from Morocco, Trek & I helped to put on a huge nativity event for our church congregation. I spent the majority of my free time in November making costumes for our live nativity. Trek spent a TON of time cutting wood to make the stable, manger, & Mary/Joseph cutouts. We spent a good chunk of our time at the church building.
I had a few friends who helped me sew a few costumes which was super nice. I never would have finished them all on my own. Once they were all done & hanging up, it was such a relief to know it was all done.
The Roman costumes were the most exciting ones to put together for the night. They looked SO cool.
Trek spent many hours buying, cutting, assembling, & staining his wooden pieces.
We spent 3 days setting up the event with it's many Christmas trees, tables, & nativities donated by members of our church.
The nativity even lasted 3 days. At 6:30 each night a choir sang excerpts from Handel's Messiah which was beautiful. From 7:15-7:30 members of our church performed a live nativity play re-enacting the birth of our Savior. Then from 7:30-9 volunteers played beautiful Christmas music while visitors explored the many beautiful nativities set out. We had over 200 nativity sets from all around the world. At the back of the church building we had a room with kids' activities to keep the littles busy. It all turned out beautiful.
3 of my kiddos volunteered to be characters in one of the night's live nativity play.
