After we got back to the hotel & put the kiddos in bed, the grown ups all decided to walk down to the Mahane Yehuda Open Air Market for some shopping fun. The market is pretty popular among tourists. It was fabulous!
There were all sorts of food, fruits, & vegetables, clothing, accessories, souvenirs, & desserts. They had chimney cakes with ice cream inside. My friend got one of those.
It was the 3rd night of Hanukkah so all the Menorah's were lit with 3 candles. I loved all the music & all the vendors beckoning us to join come buy their food, treats, & clothing. It was such a fun cultural experience.
Trek & I bought some baklava (it's one of our favorites) while others bought donuts. We all bought some fun souvenirs, food, & then stopped at a little grocery store to buy sandwich supplies for lunch the next day. I'm so glad we ventured out & explored Jerusalem on our own a little bit.
