December 2022 Happenings

A LOT happened in December for our family.  Here are a few of the random things going on at our house that didn't deserve it's own blog post.  ;-)

I was very excited to wear my new Moroccan dress to church as soon as we got home.  It's SO beautiful.
When I saw that coral color with teal sequins, I knew it was meant to go home with me.

On December 6th, Saint Nikalous visited our house one last time while we are in Germany.  The kids cleaned their shoes & put them outside their door & Saint Nikalous put chocolate santas, peeps, oranges, & a kinder egg in each.  The kids were very excited to find their shoes full of surprises.

The boys were very excited to make nativity lanterns at their December Activity Days activity.  They were BEAUTIFUL.

The highlight moment for me this month was getting this speeding ticket in the mail.  Normally we loathe when speeding tickets come in the mail (Germany is VERY good at giving tickets via camera for anything over 8km per hour over the limit [which is only about 3-4 mph]).  But this one made me laugh so hard I couldn't breathe.  I love that Trek purposely sped 3 mph above the speed limit Halloween night just so we could get this beauty.

Bladen is in a growth spurt right now.  Lorien is no longer our tallest child.  Bladen finally passed her up this month & is continuing to grow like a weed.  I forget how crazy boys' growth spurts are during their teenage years.

Canyon helped Trek to put up the Christmas lights outside this year.  Usually Bladen & Craiger do it, but Canyon joined the fun this year too.

Right before we left for Israel, 3 of the kiddos had dental appointments.  I loved this pic of them hanging out at the office while they waited for their turns.

This year we continued to sponsor our Christmas Elves game with people in our church congregation.  I always organize a big game for everyone to participate in where you receive names of different families & ding dong ditch a gift to them during the week.  You can sign up for 1, 2, 3, or all 4 weeks during Christmastime.  We signed up for 3 weeks this year (because the 4th week we went to Israel).

This year one of our friends had our name & they made us beautiful ornaments that go along with our favorite book series "The Stormlight Archive."  This gift was SO special to us.  We just love their family so much.

After Christmas, the kids complained that we didn't have time to bake goodies or decorate cookies, so we had a free day & decorated Christmas cookies together.  It was actually really nice.  I loved it.

So those are our smaller happenings in December.
